Multi channel installation - featuring a monitor and floor projection

This work tackles questions of how we as humans relate to natural forms like plants and completely constructed technological devices. A question and investigation rooted in how we can spend all of our time interacting with these two entities in which we know so little about. While understanding and using plants was once crucial to survival, this process now exists abstractly for most and is replaced by an aesthetic appreciation alone. On the flip side, technology previously representing a luxury is now something we believe we cannot live without. How do these two disparate things cross and mirror each other but more importantly point to our disregard or disengagement as humans? For this piece, I created a dialogue between a plant and a device in order to attempt to give a voice and an opinion to something that was created without one. I unpacked this in writing, video, performative actions, and drawn animation.
